I have been living in Brookline since 2010. I have three children who attend Baker School (7th, 5th and 2nd grade).
I joined the BEF because, having an educational background myself, I believe strongly in the need to support our teachers and staff. I have been a part of the teacher grant committee during my time on the BEF board and it has been the most rewarding part for me. Each year, as we read the submitted grants, it reenergizes me to know how much our teachers are engaged with our children and also how much they desire to become even better educators and leaders. It feels so good to award the grants and then to hear the appreciation from the teachers themselves. It is a great yearly reminder of the amazing community we have in Brookline and how fortunate our children are.
