Irina Anghel Enescu is an advisor at the Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship at MIT and
serves as an Entrepreneurship Expert contracted by the Oxford Saïd Entrepreneurship Centre,
Oxford University. Passionate about education at all levels—and especially entrepreneurial
education—Irina takes particular joy in supporting EdTech ventures that expand access and
innovation in learning.

She brings board experience at various levels—from Romania’s largest asset manager to early-
stage startups, from global NGOs to grassroots initiatives, and from chairing the Harvard Club of
Romania and Moldova to serving on the boards of newly created schools. She is also a member
of the jury for several prominent global education competitions, including the Global Teacher
Prize—an annual $1 million award for an outstanding K–12 educator—and the World’s Best
School Prizes.

Irina was selected as an Eisenhower Fellow (2008) and a Young Global Leader by the World
Economic Forum (2014), and in 2022 she received the Distinguished Fellow Award from
Eisenhower Fellowships. She was recognized among the Top 100 Women in Tech in Europe by
Girls in Tech London and has been featured multiple times in Forbes Romania’s list of the 50
most influential women, as well as Foreign Policy Romania’s Top 100.

Originally from Romania, Irina traveled to more than 60 countries before settling in Brookline
with her husband and son, a proud student at the Roland Hayes School (in the meanwhile 15 new
countries have been added to the list). She is thrilled to support the Brookline Education
Foundation’s mission and contribute to its work celebrating and empowering local educators.
