Steven Ehrenberg directs international education programs at a global nonprofit based
in Washington, DC, and recently ended a four-year stint on the Brookline School
Committee. Over the past 20 years, he has designed, supported, and run education
programs funded by the US government and corporate foundations in many countries,
including teacher education programs in Afghanistan and Rwanda. He currently
directs Next Engineers, a global engineering education program funded by the GE
Aerospace Foundation.

In his last year on the School Committee, Steven served as the Policy Subcommittee
Chair, and prioritized support for improving Brookline’s literacy instruction,
environmental education, and equitable access to education. He has a daughter at
Lawrence, another daughter formerly at Lawrence and now at the Carroll School, and
an Ed.D. in international education policy from Teachers College Columbia University.
