The BEF welcomed educators and donors to our annual Celebrating Teachers event on May 10 at the Lincoln School. All recipients of grants and awards were acknowledged at the event, in particular this year’s winners of the Ernest R. Caverly Award for Excellence in Teaching. Nicole Chasse, kindergarten teacher at the Florida Ruffin Ridley School, and Joslyn Vendola, math teacher in the ExCel program at Brookline High School, were this year’s winners. They were introduced by their principals, Jen Buller and Anthony Meyer, respectively, with additional remarks from Catherine Burke, the BEF’s president, and Dr. Linus Guillory, Brookline’s Superintendent of Schools.
